Patrícia Gonçalves (b. 1971), from Barreiro, holds a degree in Technological Physics Engineering and a PhD in Physics.
She is a University Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico and a Researcher at the Laboratory of Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics. Over the past 20 years, she has worked in the field of Astroparticle Physics and in the study of the space radiation environment, its effects, implications, and applications for space exploration, as well as in applications of ionizing radiation to medicine. She is also a substitute councillor at Lisbon City Council (2021–2025) and a Member of Parliament, elected for LIVRE.
